Las Vegas Sands gives UNLV $15M to establish Chinese culture institute

The trade wars, past and present, between China and the U.S. are nothing new. Neither are the harsh words between their governments.

Even so, UNLV has had fairly close relations with higher education programs in China for many years. Now, the two are even closer.

In December, Las Vegas Sands announced a $15 million gift to UNLV, establishing the Sands Institute for Chinese Language and Culture. It is the only such institute in the country.
