The Las Vegas Lights Football Club, the city’s United Soccer League team, has come a long way. Since their start in 2018, the Lights hadn’t made it to the playoffs — until now.

This season, they turned heads by winning their first-ever playoff game, knocking out New Mexico United in the semi-finals, and then making it all the way to the conference finals.

They then faced the Colorado Silverbacks this past weekend, and while the dream run ended with a tough 1-0 loss, the Lights showed they can compete with the league’s best.

So, where do they go from here? What did they learn from this season’s successes—and that final defeat? Can this momentum carry them to another playoff run next year? Or better yet, could the Lights actually take home a USL Championship trophy someday?
