The history of the Black communities of Nevada and Las Vegas is one of those areas that doesn’t get a lot of coverage and it’s not something taught much in schools.

But a new documentary reveals the importance of African Americans here in the growth and development of the city.

It’s Called Across the Tracks: A Las Vegas Westside Story. It was previewed at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and in Las Vegas last weekend at the Plaza Hotel and Casino.
