UNLV students get free and low-cost textbooks through pilot program

Student textbooks for rent sit on the shelves at the City College Bookstore in New York

UNLV students on average spend more than 12-hundred dollars a semester on books and supplies. 

In the interest of making higher education more affordable and accessible to more students – the university created a Open Educational Resources task force.   

For the first time – many students are getting free and low-cost textbooks through the pilot program this semester.
