Aggressive water conservation measures have been put in place in Southern Nevada to conserve precious Colorado River water.
Southern Nevada gets 90 percent of its water from the river, and the amount of water it takes is just a sliver of that compared to what six other states use.
And climate change is making the West hotter and drier with more frequent and prolonged droughts. So are all of the states doing enough to preserve their water resources going forward? What does responsible water policy look like alongside unprecedented growth rates?
John Berggren is a water policy analyst with the Western Resource Advocates, an organization that seeks answers to those questions.
