Just when it seems one giant wave of gaming headlines ebbs, another follows.
And perhaps causing the biggest splash is Eldorado Resorts, a Reno gaming company that just bought Caesars Entertainment for more than $17 billion.
But that’s not all that’s happening. Remember the Sahara? It’s coming back, as the north-strip property SLS will revert back to the iconic Vegas casino-hotel that replaced it in 2014.
Also, gaming revenue was down for the fifth month in a row, despite more people visiting Vegas than ever before; employees at six Stations Casinos properties have now voted to join the Culinary and Bartenders unions, despite corporate resistance; and last month, New Jersey made history by landing more sports bets than Nevada.
