Arts Hub Hoped For In 'The Lucy'

For about as long as most people can remember, there’s been a hope for downtown Las Vegas to become a hub for the arts.

There is, in fact, an arts district. There are galleries there, and there’s hope, one day, for a major art museum. Smatterings of art from Burning Man are scattered about. Some murals left over from Life is Beautiful.

But is there a true arts community?

One may be coming.

It’s a place called The Lucy.

Beverly Rogers and her Rogers Foundation is opening The Lucy, a three-story artists-in-residence condo in downtown Las Vegas soon. At 6th Street and Bonneville Avenue, it will also house a combo bookstore and coffee shop.
