Many people can probably remember a close call on the road when they’ve almost hit a deer or another animal that jumps out in front of them.
That's why the Nevada Department of Transportation recently approved a $14 million dollar project to reduce animal-related crashes in the state.
The project will build deer crossings along a stretch of Interstate 80 in Elko County, and should be completed by 2017.
Governor Brian Sandoval chairs the board of NDOT, and voted in favor of the project, despite expressing some doubt.
