Las Vegas Center Of Government Spending Scandal - Again

Roulette wheel

Another government employee scandal has landed in Las Vegas.

In 2012, reports surfaced about a General Services Administration conference at the M Resort that included a clown, a mind-reader and a lavish $30,000 reception.

The chief of that agency and two of her top deputies were fired.

Now a new scandal over government money being spent in Las Vegas is growing.

A new Defense Department audit finds that Pentagon employees used government credit cards to gamble and pay for "adult entertainment" while in Las Vegas.

According to a report in Politico, the audit of "Government Travel Charge Transactions" found both civilian and military employees used credit cards at casinos and for escort services in Las Vegas and Atlantic City.

Pentagon officials pointed out that just because a government credit card was used doesn't mean the government paid for it. Card holders pay their bills then submit receipts to be reimbursed.
