Las Vegas hotels throw away 200,000 soap bars daily. At the same time there are parts of the U.S. and the world where one soap bar can save a life.
Shawn Seipler was at a hotel room during one of his business trips, when he called the lobby to ask where the soap bar he barely used will eventually go. When he found out, Shawn decided to do something about it.
“I dug deeper, pulled up research papers and discovered that about six thousands kids die daily from pneumonia and diarrhea. If only their mothers could have an extra soap bar, we could cut down this number,” says Seipler.
Shawn and his team have collected and recycled 20 million soap bars so far.
