As the scorching days of summer approach, it's easy to be lulled into a false sense of security when you see the lush lawns in Las Vegas' subdivisions. But that would be a mistake, according to Diane Lewis. She says that the American lawn is causing more pollution with less regulation than any fertilizer or pesticide used on the farm. And in the desert Southwest, we need to pay particular attention to the toxins and pharmaceuticals that seep into our aquifiers. She's set out her case in a new book entitled The Great Healthy Yard Project.
