Government Workers Skip Las Vegas

The General Services Administration became the poster child for government excess when it spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on a conference for regional workers. The event had morale-building excercises, charity giveaways, gourmet food and videos lauding the work of the agency and its top brass. But it created a scandal that embarrassed Las Vegas. Apparently the damage was done as federal workers seem to be avoiding any meeting held in a resort destination like Las Vegas.
