The small owl makes its home in that Las Vegas neighborhood, but biologists fear construction may threaten its safety. So why is the burrowing owl important? July 20, 2012 update: The Gilcrease Orchard has two chicks. The best viewing times are from 5 - 6 am and 7:15 - 8:15 pm. They are not out during the heat of the day.
