Some rural Nevada legislators say the legislative maps drawn up by the state's "special masters" aren't fair to their communities. Assembly Minority Leader Pete Goicoechea, R-Eureka told the Las Vegas Sun that rural counties deserve adequate representation in the legislature. Goicoechea and some of his assembly colleagues think that because the new maps lump a small piece of Clark County in with large parts of rural Nevada, it leaves open the possibility that a southern Nevadan could be elected to represent those areas. And that is a fear in the eyes of some leaders. We'll talk with Assembly Minority Leader, Pete Goicoechea about who should represent Nevada's rural areas.
