CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada's governor signed a law Friday opening the books on those awarded lucrative licenses to sell recreational marijuana in the state, prompting the state tax department to reveal that just 16 applicants won all 61 new pot dispensary licenses awarded last year.

A same-day voter registration bill has passed a state Senate committee in Nevada.

The legislative panel approved the measure on Friday. The bill, with a proposed conceptual amendment, would allow people who register to vote on Election Day to cast a full provisional ballot.
