The Southern Nevada Health District has announced an investigation into possible exposure to tuberculosis at eighteen Clark County School District campuses.

The district says the investigation involves one person with an active infection who was on 26 campuses and one training site before being diagnosed. While eight schools had no exposures, currently seventeen campuses are being investigated.

In addition, what the health district calls a “broader exposure notification” is taking place at Deskin Elementary School.

The health district is emphasizing that not everyone who may have been exposed will be infected and not everyone who is infected with TB has the active disease.
