Jesus "Jesse" Moreno, owner of downtown Las Vegas auto shop Genuine Auto Services, and regular KNPR guest, has died, according to a post on the shop’s Facebook page.
"It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that the Moreno Family announces the passing of Jesus ‘Jesse’ Moreno. He will be greatly missed and always in our minds and hearts as the beautiful soul he was and always will be," they wrote.
Moreno was a respected mechanic and joined KNPR’s State of Nevada several times as a subject matter expert for our “car talk” shows. His kindness, expertise, humor and willingness to lend a hand helped listeners in need solve their vehicle problems. He will be missed by the KNPR team, his family, friends, and employees.
"Totally an awesome experience!" Moreno wrote on social media, after joining the show for the first time. "Please support Nevada Public Radio, the shop Genuine Auto Services and I by listening in and make sure to see us if you need any automotive repair needs for those daily drivers. Remember those who support you and are there for you before overspending at the big local chain shops!"
His family asked for privacy at this time. No public services will be held.
