More 'Dropicana' I-15 closures coming through May

NDOT

There will be a series of overnight closures along the I-15 coming up in May.

The Nevada Department of Transportation announced the overnight closures are to install Active Traffic Management (ATM) gantries. A total of 10 new ATMs (five northbound, five southbound) will be installed as part of the I-15/Tropicana Interchange project.

NDOT said the full-colored LED signs provide next-generation, real-time driver information to prepare motorists for upcoming incidents and lane restrictions.

Each closure is between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. beginning Monday, May 8.

Here are the details from NDOT:

9 p.m. Monday, May 8 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 9

Northbound I-15 will be closed between Blue Diamond Road and I-215. Northbound drivers will be diverted to Windmill Ln, Las Vegas Blvd, to the I-215 onramp, and back onto I-15.

9 p.m. Monday, May 15 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 16

Northbound I-15 will be closed at Russell Rd. Northbound drivers will be diverted into the collector-distributor lane parallel to I-15.

Lane Restriction on eastbound Harmon Ave.

Beginning the night of Wednesday, May 10, crews will close one lane of eastbound Harmon Ave. as they work to build a new half interchange on the south side of Harmon. That lane will remain closed until the half interchange opens this fall.
