Nevada cannabis regulator issues pesticide health warning

The Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board on Saturday issued a public health notice for the use of an unapproved pesticide in locally-sold cannabis products.

Agents of the board discovered several batches of cannabis treated with the pesticide Ethephon (Florel brand), at Circle S Farms LLC, the agency said in a media release.

The CCB said this is the second time they have found use of the pesticide, which isn't approved by the Nevada Department of Agriculture.

"There is no reason to believe the cannabis sales facilities or cannabis testing facilities had any knowledge of the use of this unapproved pesticide; Ethephon is not on the list of pesticides the testing facilities must look for, and their test methods are not set up for detection of Ethephon," CCB public information officer Tiana Bohner said.

The products were sold between March 23 and April 21 at the following stores:
