Historic bar Atomic Liquors to mark 70 years on East Fremont Street

Atomic Liquors/Facebook

Atomic Liquors, a historic bar on Las Vegas' East Fremont Street, is turning 70 years old this month.

The bar holds the city's first-ever liquor sale license, #00001, and was run by Joe and Stella Sobchik until Joe's death in 2010. His wife died three months later, both age 91.

In 2012, the property was bought by an investment group who gave the bar a much-needed update.

But much of the history was kept, including the original floor safe under a piece of glass from around 1950.

To celebrate its history, the bar is holding a three-day event on June 17 through 19 with bar and food specials.
