School Police Officer Shoots, No One Hit, Near Las Vegas Campus

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities in Las Vegas say a school district police officer fired his gun during a confrontation near an elementary school, but no one was injured and a person described as a suspect was being sought.

The Clark County School District said the shooting happened about 9 a.m. Thursday near Harris Elementary School southeast of downtown.

Details of the shooting and the identity of the person being sought were not immediately made public as police converged in the area.
