Nevada Reports 1,221 New Coronavirus Cases, 5 More Deaths

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada officials reported 1,221 new coronavirus cases and 5 new deaths on Monday.

The state has reported 262,794 confirmed cases and 3,779 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

The single-day increases were notably less compared to spikes reported earlier in January, but officials have cautioned against drawing conclusions from single-day data and say reporting delays over weekends and holidays are normal and expected.

The state remains under tightened restrictions on public and private gatherings as positivity rates remain high and the months-long surge continues to break records for new cases and deaths on a regular basis.
