CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — The governor of Nevada released a budget proposal for the upcoming two years that includes steep cuts to education and increased spending on health care.
Democratic Gov. Steve Sisolak and his staff said better-than-expected revenue projections and federal relief allowed the state to avoid proposing more severe cuts anticipated earlier in 2020.
The two-year budget is $500 million less than Sisolak proposed in 2019, but more than the revised budget implemented over the summer.
