Gay Marriage, Voting Rights Ballot Questions Pass In Nevada

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada voters enshrined same-sex marriage, voting rights and a renewable energy mandate into the state constitution, decisively approving four of five initiatives that appeared on the 2020 ballot.

Voters added the right to same-sex marriage to the state constitution, overturning an amendment voters approved in 2002 to ban the practice.

The U.S. Supreme Court overturned state same-sex marriage bans in 2015, but bans remain in the constitutions of 30 states.
