Nevada U.S. Representative Susie Lee hosted a virtual town hall Saturday focused on at-home teaching.
A panel of education experts joined the Congresswoman to answer constituent questions about resuming classes amid the coronavirus pandemic. Topics included teacher support and retention, special education needs, translation for non-English-speaking families and custodian training.
In her closing remarks, Lee urged the audience to continue taking recommended precautions against COVID-19. She called fighting the spread of the virus “the most important piece of the pie in terms of getting our students into classrooms.”
In Lee’s Clark County congressional district, schools are slated to begin the academic year with distance and hybrid learning this month.
