School Board Approves Online-Only For Start Of School Year

The Clark County School Board approved an only-online start to schools this fall.

Originally, the Clark County School District was going to use a hybrid model of distance learning and staggered in-person classes. There was also an option for online-learning only for parents who did not want their children in classrooms.

The decision came after many parents and teachers opposed the idea of students returning to the classroom. The school board also expressed concerns about the safety of children and staff as coronavirus cases continue to rise in Nevada.

Several other large school districts around the country have put off returning to the classroom because of a surge in coronavirus cases.
