Black Lives Matter activists and the NAACP have joined the push to recall Las Vegas City Councilwoman Michele Fiore.
The Las Vegas Sun reports the group Expel Michele wants to remove Fiore from office after she made comments the Clark County Republican Party called “inappropriate” at a recent convention.
According to a letter from Councilman Cedric Crear to Mayor Carolyn Goodman, Fiore said controversial things about Black Lives Matter demonstrations and affirmative action.
The NAACP says its decision to join the recall effort is about “not just one thing,” but “a repeated thing.”
The recall petition has until the second week of September to collect 1,911 signatures.
