Clark County health officials say much of a recent upward trend of COVID-19 cases in Nevada can be traced to the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
In an online town hall meeting Thursday, Dr. Luis Medina-Garcia with University Medical Center said testing remains “a key part” of fighting the virus, especially with increased contact tracing.
Dr. Medina-Garcia advised Nevadans to remain diligent about face coverings, physical distancing and hand hygiene.
He also dismissed the idea that the heat of the season will kill the virus as a myth, citing Arizona’s recent jump in cases.
