After Historic Casino Closure, Gambling Returns To Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The casino coronavirus closure has ended. Cards are being dealt, dice are rolling and slot machines flashed and jingled for the first customers who started gambling again early Thursday in Las Vegas and throughout Nevada.

Hotel-casinos in downtown and suburban areas were first to open at 12:01 a.m., to be followed later in the day by reopenings of several resorts on the Las Vegas Strip.

The D Hotel and Casino downtown had several dozen people waiting for the casino to open shortly after midnight. Guests had their temperatures checked at the door and dealers wore face masks or shields.

How is Las Vegas' healthcare system really doing, and what does it mean for you and your family? Desert Companion's Health Issue takes a deep dive into these questions and explores how heart-centered business leaders prove that doing good benefits the bottom line.
