Coronavirus Outbreak Forces UNR To Change Recruitment Process

With college recruitment season coinciding with the coronavirus pandemic, the University of Nevada, Reno has made a few changes to the process.

The university won't allow live campus tours. Instead, it will offer virtual campus tours with 10 to 15 students, according to the Reno Gazette-Journal.

The school gets a lot of its students from Clark County, and most won’t be familiar with the campus, so these tours can be key, said Director of Admissions Steve Maples.

The deadline to commit to UNR was extended from May 1 to June 1, and the $250 registration fee is waived for families experiencing financial hardship.

And, ACT and SAT scores are not required if students were unable to take because of school closures.
