Gun shops in Nevada are still open after Governor Steve Sisolak’s call for the closure of all nonessential businesses amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Attorney Don Green told the Las Vegas Review-Journal a 2007 state law blocks the governor’s emergency power to restrict firearm and ammunition sales.
In a letter, Green called for Sisolak to uphold the revised statute after law enforcement came to two area gun shops, but did not tell them to shut down.
Sisolak has not yet taken an official stance on the matter.
