RENO, Nev. (AP) — The Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority has formally accepted the resignation of CEO Phil DeLone. The board's vote on Thursday means its former top executive will receive five months of paid compensation.
DeLone submitted his resignation on Feb. 13, citing medical reasons. Two weeks earlier, the RSCVA's attorney confirmed he was being investigated for unspecified allegations of misconduct.
The compensation package approved Thursday provides him with three months of paid medical leave and two months of paid severance with benefits.
The former head of Safari Club International was hired as CEO in November 2016. A search is underway for his replacement.
