A Nevada political group plans to revise and resubmit a proposed state constitutional amendment aimed at creating an appointed commission to redraw legislative and U.S. congressional voting districts.

A Nevada group wants a special commission – not state lawmakers -- to redraw statewide voting maps.

To do that would take two consecutive votes by state residents.

Fair Maps Nevada is trying to get 100,000 signatures by mid-June to get it on the ballot this fall.

Fair Maps Nevada is supported by the League of Women Voters of Nevada, which is pushing to prevent gerrymandering nationwide.

Sondra Cosgrove is the president of the League of Women Voters of Nevada.
