The Elko Daily Free Press reports 30-year-old Ermelinda Carrillo is accused of theft by misrepresentation and obtaining money or property by false pretenses. She was booked into the county jail on Dec. 15.

The alleged victim told police Carrillo took his money in exchange for a pledge to help him obtain full custody of his child. It's not clear if she has a lawyer.
