Fiesta Casino Latest Station Casino To Vote To Unionize

Workers at Fiesta Henderson voted to unionize Friday.  Fiesta is the seventh Station Casinos Las Vegas property to unionize in the past three years.

Fifty-seven percent of nearly 300 workers voted to be represented by the Culinary Workers Union and Bartenders Union, in a secret-ballot election supervised by the National Labor Relations Board.

Employees at several Station Casinos, particularly the Palms, have voted to unionize, but management at the properties has refused to recognize the unions.

In May the National Labor Relations Board found that the Palms violated federal laws by refusing to recognize and bargain with the Culinary and Bartenders Unions.
