A spokeswoman for the company that operates the prison says the male inmate was found unconscious in his secured cell.

She declined to identify the inmate or release further details about his death or the lockdown.

But the Review-Journal says the 28-year-old inmate was serving time for burglary, assault with a deadly weapon and attempted coercion and his sentence was scheduled to end in August 2020.

The inmate was found during security inspections and pronounced dead at a hospital.
