Skin Cancer Numbers Rising In Utah

Utah's number of skin cancer cases has been rising, and the state has now been listed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as having the highest rate in the country, with about 41 new cases per 100,000 people.

The most recent datacompiled by the CDC reveal one of the most serious forms of the disease, melanoma, was the third most common type of cancer in Utah, trailing only breast and prostate cancer.

Nevada, meanwhile, is ranked at 44, with 18 new cases annually per 100,000 people.
