Las Vegas-To-Los Angeles Freeway Reopens After Fatal Crash

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities say the main freeway between Las Vegas and Los Angeles reopened near the Nevada-California state line nearly five hours after a crash that fatally injured a pickup truck driver.

Southbound Interstate 15 reopened a little before 2 p.m. Thursday after Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Jason Buratczuk says all lanes were closed after the crash about 7 a.m.

Buratczuk says the Ford pickup collided with a Mercedes vehicle before the pickup rolled over about 30 miles south of Las Vegas.

The male driver of the pickup truck was flown by medical helicopter to University Medical Center in Las Vegas, where he later died.

His name wasn't immediately released, pending notification of family members by the Clark County coroner.

The Mercedes driver escaped serious injury.
