Labor Board Says Palms Casino Violated Labor Laws

The National Labor Relations Board has found Station Casinos’ Palms Casino Resort in violation of federal labor law by refusing to bargain with the Culinary and Bartenders Union.

The board in Washington D.C. issued the decision last week with a unanimous vote that the Palms has been in violation of the law since May 17.

In a statement, the Culinary Union says they wish the Palms would begin contract negotiations in good faith immediately.

During a two-day election at the Palms in April, more than 614 workers voted, with 84 percent of the vote in favor of the union. Station Casinos tried to overturn the election with a series of legal challenges.

Station Casinos is Nevada’s third-largest private employer.
