Las Vegas Renews City Manager Contract

The Las Vegas City Council renewed city manager Scott Adams’ contract Thursday, securing his position for another two years.

The council also voted unanimously to give Adams a 4 percent raise and a $10,000 bonus.

This comes after a bit of controversy last month when Councilwoman Michele Fiore called for a public discussion of Adams’ contract, saying she wanted to give all councilors a chance to weigh in on the city manager.

Adams interpreted the non-renewal at that meeting as essentially being fired. Mayor Carolyn Goodman was absent during that discussion but lauded Adams’ achievements during Thursday’s meeting.

Under the new contract, Adams’ position will not be up for automatic renewal in two years.
