Lucky Dragon Hotel-Casino Sold To CEO Of Construction Equipment Firm

The shuttered off-Strip property Lucky Dragon has been sold.

Don Ahern of Las Vegas construction equipment firm Ahern Rentals acquired the property for $36 million. The sale closed yesterday.

The sale comes about six months after the resort went into foreclosure – and less than two years after it originally opened.

Ahern told the Las Vegas Review-Journal he plans to turn the hotel-casino into a non-gaming resort. He said he will turn the casino property into convention and conference space.

Ahern also said he would be changing the name.
