Ex-Head Of NV Administration Dept New Douglas County Manager

GARDNERVILLE, Nev. (AP) — The director of Nevada's Department of Administration has resigned to accept a new job as the county manager of Douglas County.

 

The (Gardnerville) Record-Courier reportsPatrick Cates worked his last day at the state job on Friday. He replaces Tom Stone, who was hired as county manager in January but resigned after a week on the job.

Douglas County commissioners offered Cates the new job at their Feb. 7 meeting with an annual salary in the range of $168,000 to $225,000.

Cates is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno who previously served as deputy director of the Nevada Department of Wildlife from 2009 to 2015.

 

He also worked for the Nevada Department of Cultural Affairs, Department of Health and Human Services and Department of Motor Vehicles.
