The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has asked the city of Elko about providing water service to the site of a proposed national cemetery.
The Elko Daily Free Press reports that the VA is offering to pay for the design and construction of a special water line to the location, which is on 15 acres of land near Adobe Middle School outside of Elko’s city limits.
The national cemetery was proposed last year by then-Senator Dean Heller.
