LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas police have identified a 21-year-old woman accused of using a stolen car to run over and kill a nail salon owner who chased her for failing to pay for a $35 manicure.
The department on Thursday released a 2018 jail photo of the suspect, Krystal Whipple, along with an internet plea for information including security video footage of Saturday's incident. The video shows 51-year-old Ngoc Q. Nguyen jumping in front of a black sedan and being dragged beneath the car as it speeds away. Her husband also is seen in the video chasing the car from behind.
The Clark County coroner says Nguyen was from Garden Grove, California.
Police say the car was stolen last month. It was found abandoned at a nearby apartment complex.
