State Collected More Than $7M In Marijuana Taxes In September

Nevada’s Department of Taxation says the state collected $7.49 million in taxes from the state’s marijuana industry in September, which marked the end of the first quarter of the fiscal year.

That brings year-to-date collections to nearly $24-million – a 77 percent increase year over year. Retail marijuana sales in the state were close to $125-million during the first quarter, a 40 percent increase.

In addition, a wholesale marijuana tax of 15 percent paid by cultivators brought in $11 million in the first quarter.
