Blasting Begins On State Route 160 Project

Nevada Department of Transportation crews begin blasting Monday in the mountain pass along highway 160, which connects Las Vegas to Pahrump.

The roadwork is part of a nearly two-year-long road-widening project.

The Pahrump Valley Times reports that motorists planning to travel through the area could experience long delays from time to time.

The blasting will take place every other workday between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. east of Mount Potosi Canyon Road, with the road closed during those times.

The blasting work should conclude by October 15.
