LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Republican who appeared to have narrowly lost a primary race for Clark County administrator last month now appears to have won the contest in a special do-over election.
Unofficial results Tuesday showed Thomas Fougere defeated Aaron Manfredi by capturing about six of every 10 votes in the race.
Registrar of Voters Joe Gloria said he couldn't certify results from their June 12 contest that showed Manfredi winning by four votes because more than 40 voters may have inadvertently voted twice.
There were 26,170 votes cast in Tuesday's special election. That's less than half the ballots originally cast in the June primary.
Fougere told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that he's looking forward to facing Democrat Robert Telles in the general election.
Manfredi says his campaign suffered amid reports of his guilty plea to a disorderly conduct charge.
