3 Year Old Weapons Case Could Impact Oct. 1 Shooting Lawsuits

Almost three years before last October’s mass shooting in Las Vegas, a man was arrested after multiple weapons were found in his Mandalay Bay hotel room.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports Kye Aaron Dunbar’s case could have an impact on lawsuits against Mandalay Bay.

Court documents say Dunbar’s room on the 24 th floor contained six weapons, including a scoped rifle, pointed toward the Strip. Dunbar was sentenced to 40 months in federal prison in 2016 after pleading guilty to an unlawful possession charge.

The case surfaced Thursday in Clark County District Court proceedings.

A lawsuit filed earlier this year accuses Mandalay Bay and parent company MGM Resorts of negligence concerning the attack on the Route 91 Harvest Festival.
