The agency overseeing taxicab companies in Southern Nevada appointed a new leader this week.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reportsScott Whittemore was selected as the permanent replacement for Ronald Grogan, who resigned in March amid a series of longtime disagreements with the state Taxicab Authority’s board of directors.
He steps into the role at a time when the local taxicab authority has reported months of declines in revenue and ridership as ride-hailing companies like Uber and Lyft gain steam.
Whittemore was a former deputy commissioner with the state Division of Mortgage Lending.
