Provo Parade Organizers Deny Entry To LGBTQ Groups, Supporters

A 4 th of July parade in Provo, Utah has denied entry into the parade to groups supporting LGBT rights and resources.

Organizers of America’s Freedom Festival told one LGBT resource center called Encircle that their proposed entry does not celebrate patriotism.

The group was also denied last year.

Organizers of Mormons Building Bridges also had their application denied as well as four other LGBT support groups.

The Freedom Festival said in a statement that 22 applicants were rejected because they “were deemed outside the parameters of the parade guidelines.”

The unsigned statement did not identify those groups.
